Abstract
The agrochemical industry in India, vital for enhancing agricultural productivity and ensuring food security, has evolved significantly since the Green Revolution. This paper explores its historical development, growth, and the challenges it faces, including environmental concerns, regulatory hurdles, and the misuse of pesticides. Despite these issues, the industry's expansion is driven by India's growing population, technological advancements, government initiatives, and the export potential. The paper also discusses sustainable solutions like integrated pest management, biopesticides, precision agriculture, and government support to overcome challenges. Emphasizing the need for a balance between productivity and environmental sustainability, it suggests that with continued innovation and responsible practices, the agrochemical industry can contribute significantly to India's agricultural success.
